Danny Busija

Co-Founder

Danny Busija brings more than 20 years of recruitment and executive search experience to Blackstar Recruitment. He began his career as an auditor and accountant before moving into recruitment, where he has since held consulting, management, and director level roles across some of Australia's leading search firms.

Over the course of his career, Danny has built a reputation as a trusted advisor across Supply Chain & Logistics, Industrials and the Not-for-Profit sector, combining deep sector knowledge with a genuine, relationship first approach to sourcing talent. He is widely regarded within the industry as an expert in Supply Chain recruitment, a reputation built through years spent immersed in the sector both as a recruiter and as an industry leader.

Danny's leadership extends well beyond individual placements. He spent a decade as National Director of the Supply Chain & Logistics Association of Australia (SCLAA) and chaired the Transport & Logistics Certification Council, helping shape standards and career pathways across the industry. He has also founded firms and has held senior leadership roles at others, giving him a rare breadth of perspective on what makes recruitment partnerships succeed.

Known for his focus on "recruitment for retention," Danny prioritises finding the right long-term fit for both clients and candidates over quick placements. He holds a bachelor's degree in Business Management and has completed executive education at Mt Eliza Business School.

Beyond recruitment, Danny is active in his community, serving on the Footscray High School Council and as Treasurer of the Venus Bay Surf Lifesaving Club.

At Blackstar Recruitment, Danny channels this experience into building a firm defined by integrity, sector expertise, and a genuine commitment to the people and businesses he works with.

Tim Sharp B.Com(hons)

Co-Founder

Tim has 25 years of recruitment experience and a Bachelor's degree in Commerce (hons) from Monash University, with a HR and accounting focus.

Prior to founding BlackStar, Tim founded Sharp & Carter and then Careers and Candidates for 12 years.  He worked at Robert Half, Michael Page and Amcor Europe. 

With a focus on assisting with Accounting & Finance engagements, he works with multinationals and ASX listed businesses through to companies looking for their first in-house finance employee.

Tim is always interested in engagements where the client needs to work though what the business and team need from the role and then defining the candidate profile. 

Outside work, you will find Tim on bike rides with the family, training the German Shepherd pup Chief, or searching for a great value wine.
